The silica gel looks like white granulated sugar and is harmless. It is synthetic sand SiO2. You can let the silica gel dry and use it again. Depending on the type of flour / essential oil content, the silica gel will decrease in capacity. Reuse of silica gel Silica gel absorbs water. The water can be removed from it in an oven or microwave. The oven must be heated between 120 and 150 degrees Celsius. Place the silica gel on a baking foil or aluminum foil. The duration differs per weight but can be calculated with approximately 1 hour per 500 grams. If the discolouration has taken place, the process is complete. When using a microwave oven it should be set to medium (about 700 watts). Check every 5 minutes if the silica gel is discolored. The silica gel can be stirred with a spoon so that the wet gel becomes free again. The method and implementation of reuse is at your own risk.
